Geoffrey Bate - President

A professional musician since 1970, Geoffrey Bate has always been fascinated with music's ability to powerfully affect people on both an emotional and physical level.

He attended the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, studying psychology and sociology and was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1977.

Looking for opportunities to combine music and psychology, he began working in the audio production industry a short time later, specializing in marketing and advertising.

In the years since then, he has consulted personally with over 5,000 businesses in cities across North America…from the smallest local advertisers to the largest multi-nationals. His recommendations and creative solutions are being used daily by clients across four continents and 11 time zones.

His company Imagine words and Music Inc. is an internationally respected supplier of custom music and “audio signatures” to broadcast advertisers around the world.

Geoffrey is also a keynote speaker and seminar leader for business groups, Chambers of Commerce, franchise conferences, etc., helping advertisers get the best return on their marketing investment.

In addition, Geoffrey is regularly invited as a guest presenter at broadcaster conventions, advising media companies and sales representatives on strategies to increase the results their clients are able to achieve. As a ‘hired gun’ creative resource, his current client list includes US-based ClearChannel Communications and Canadian-based Rogers Broadcast, Jim Pattison Broadcast, Standard Radio and CORUS Entertainment.

Morry Stearns - Writer / Producer

In addition to his writing and production work with IMAGINE, Morry also pursues a career as a recording artist and songwriter. He has released CD's in North America and Japan, and has appeared in concert with artists as diverse as Kenny Loggins, Bryan Adams, Michael Bolton, Julio Iglasias and Michael McDonald. He performed with Celine Dion, David Foster and the N.A.C.Symphony Orchestra in a Royal Command Performance for Prince Charles and Princess Diana in 1991. He wrote and performed the closing song for the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, appearing before a television audience of over 400 million people. As a songwriter, his work has been recorded by Peabo Bryson and by Keizo Nakanishi in Japan.

Duncan Meiklejohn - Writer / Producer

Multi-talented producer, vocalist and instrumentalist, Duncan has produced or performed on over 1,000 jingles over the past 20 years. In fact, he may hold the record for singing on more advertising jingles across North America than any other vocalist! From national advertisers like Chrysler, Honda, Ford, 7-Eleven, Sears and McDonald's, to hundreds of local jingles, Duncan's voice can be heard on the radio every day in virtually every state and province on the continent. He has also recorded or performed as a backup vocalist with Sheena Easton, Celine Dion, David Foster, Michael Bolton and more!

Tom McKillip - Writer / Producer

On top of his writing and producing duties with IMAGINE, Tom is also Musical Director for recording artist Lisa Brokop. He is currently nominated for a 2001 Canadian Country Music Award as Producer Of The Year. Tom also handles guitars, sax and background vocals in her live show, and has performed in concert with Alan Jackson, Vince Gill and John Michael Montgomery. A veteran of the Canadian country music scene, Tom has also worked with Jann Arden, George Fox, Ian Tyson and Gordon Lightfoot. He had the special honour of playing sax on David Foster's "Can't You Feel It" for the 1988 Winter Olympics.

Craig Zurba - Writer / Producer

With over 20 years experience as a writer, performer and producer, Craig has worked with artists such as Bryan Adams, David Foster, Rita McNeil and Tom Jones. He has been a staff songwriter for April/Blackwood Music, CBS Songs and SBK Publishing. As a performer, Craig was the first Canadian to be signed to Virgin Records. In addition to his commercial work with IMAGINE, he has also scored feature motion pictures and several TV series.

Vince Mai - Writer / Producer

A talented and experienced composer / instrumentalist, Vince's work can be heard for many international advertisers including Ford, Mattel, Honda, Global TV, and McDonalds. In addition, Vince has provided underscore music on feature films for theatrical release, and on television programming for FOX, CBC, WTN, PBS, and the NFB. He is also a talented performer on trumpet, flugelhorn, piano and bass, and has worked with well known artists including Natalie Cole, David Foster, The Temptations, Boz Scaggs, Robben Ford, Buddy Miles, Powder Blues and more. As an instrumental recording artist, his jazz and smooth jazz recordings are playlisted around the world.
